Happy Reality Day! Here is your weekly dose of reality to help you live 1% happier.

1 Insight From Me

I have a colleague who is a veteran of the company and has made significant contributions to the company. He has been the manager of three departments and is also a friend of the boss.

But he is the most miserable person in the company.

He worked the most overtime and had outstanding abilities. But the result is that the boss throws all kinds of work to him, R&D, supply chain, testing, after-sales, you name it. All the employees look down on him, even newcomers started scolding “XX is an idiot” within a few days.

Because he never took himself as the most important person in his life and spoke up for himself.

Human beings have the ability to sense whether a person has high self-esteem after only a few minutes of communicating with a stranger. This self-esteem has nothing to do with a person’s ability or position. There is also another ordinary employee in the company. No matter who he is facing, if something upsets him, he shouts it out. As a result, everyone in the company treats him very politely.

The same goes for relationships.

If you put your partner above yourself and your whole life revolves around them, the result is that no matter who you are with, you end up being abandoned.

If you always think about manipulating the other person into bed, and the result is that the other person will not treat you sincerely either.

If you treat people with sincerity, then slowly you will find that others start to open up to you too and you are making true friends.

Stop telling yourself “I don’t matter”, you and others will believe it.

The world treats you the way you treat yourself.

1 Insight From Others

“Remember, you have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”
